Big Relief For Football Lovers - DStv Sports Package To Drop From GH¢875 To GH¢250 - Sam George

Good news for football lovers in Ghana.

The Minister for Communication, Digital Technology and Innovation, Samuel Nartey George Esq, has announced that DStv sports package will drop from GH¢875 to GH¢250.

According to the Minister, this is part of government efforts to make pay TV affordable for ordinary Ghanaians and stop MultiChoice from charging too much.

Sam George has been fighting MultiChoice Ghana for months over high DStv prices. He argued that with the cedi gaining strength and prices dropping in other countries, Ghanaian customers should also pay less.

He had earlier demanded a 30% reduction in DStv subscription fees, saying the current charges are too high and not fair to Ghanaians.

Now the Minister says MultiChoice has agreed to cut the price of the sports package drastically - from GH¢875 down to GH¢250.

If this happens, it means many Ghanaians who stopped watching DStv because of high cost can now come back and enjoy Premier league, Champions league, La Liga, and other sports at a cheaper price.

For many young people, families and football fans who gather at home or in pubs to watch football, this is a big relief. DStv sports had become too expensive and many people moved to other options.

A drop to GH¢250 will make it affordable again.

It is important to note that in the past, MultiChoice Ghana denied agreeing to a price cut after similar announcements from the Minister. The company said it was still in talks with government to find a solution that benefits everyone.

Ghanaians are now waiting to see if this new price of GH¢250 will officially take effect and reflect in their subscriptions.

But for now, the announcement by Sam George has already excited many football lovers who are hoping to watch more football for less.
