According to a report by Fabrizio Romano on Monday, October 19, 2026, Barcelona midfielder Pedri has praised Ousmane Dembélé’s outstanding talent, explaining how the French forward’s improved consistency at Paris Saint Germain helped him reach another level in his career.

Pedri, who played alongside Dembélé during their time at Barcelona, revealed that the forward had impressed him with his ability long before his success in Paris.

The Spain international recalled watching Dembélé perform incredible things during training sessions, saying his quality was clear to see.

Pedri explained that he often reminded the Frenchman of his special abilities and encouraged him to recognise the talent that separated him from other players.

According to the Barcelona midfielder, Dembélé showed his quality during his time at the Spanish club but struggled to maintain the same level of performance consistently.

However, he believes the forward made significant progress after joining PSG, where his performances became more regular and effective.

Pedri said Dembélé’s improved consistency was a major reason behind his rise to the top of world football and his Ballon d’Or success.

Although Dembélé had already demonstrated his technical ability at Barcelona, Pedri believes his time in France allowed him to show those qualities more consistently, helping him establish himself among the world’s best players.

Beyond praising his footballing ability, Pedri also spoke positively about his personal relationship with the French forward. He described Dembélé as a world class player and a great friend, adding that he enjoyed sharing the pitch with him.

Pedri’s comments highlight his continued admiration for Dembélé and his belief that consistency has been central to the forward’s development. While his talent was never in doubt, his performances at PSG have helped him turn that potential into sustained success at the highest level.
