According to a report by The Sun on October 16, 2026, Brazilian winger Antony has revealed that his home was burgled while he was representing Real Betis against Porto in the Champions League.
The former Manchester United player described the incident as upsetting, explaining that what should have been a memorable night on the pitch ended in anger and frustration after he learned that his home had been broken into.
“Today I come to share a very sad and outrageous situation. A night that had everything to be wonderful ended in indignation and frustration. They Robbed My House!” Antony said.
The Brazilian winger explained that the incident had affected him beyond the loss of his personal belongings, raising concerns about his family's safety and their sense of security at home.
“What outrages me the most is not just the material loss, but the feeling of insecurity in the place where we should feel most protected; seeing that insecurity reflected in the eyes of my family,” he added.
Antony's statement highlighted the emotional toll of the robbery, particularly the distress caused by seeing his family feel unsafe in their own home.
Despite his anger over the incident, the winger stressed that material possessions were not as important as the safety and well-being of his loved ones.
“But, above all this, one thing becomes even clearer to me: there is no material good in the world that is more valuable than the life and well-being of my family,” he said.
The incident reportedly occurred while Antony was away with Real Betis for their European fixture. However, his statement did not reveal which items were stolen, how the break-in occurred or whether any suspects had been identified.
The robbery has added a distressing personal experience to what should have been a football-focused evening for the Brazilian, who made clear that his family's safety remains his greatest concern.
