Back
According to a report by Barca Universal on Tuesday, October 13, 2026, Barcelona captain Raphinha is expected to return from injury for next week's Champions League clash against Paris Saint-Germain after suffering a minor setback during the international break.
The Brazilian forward has avoided a serious injury, but Barcelona are determined to manage his recovery carefully rather than rush him back ahead of several crucial fixtures.
The 29-year-old was forced off during Brazil's second friendly against Australia after experiencing discomfort. He subsequently returned to Spain for medical examinations, which confirmed that the problem was not serious.
However, Barcelona are taking extra precautions following the injury problems he experienced last season.
Raphinha took part in training on Monday before his teammates travelled to Turkey for their Champions League encounter with Galatasaray. He is expected to gradually return to full team training once the squad returns.
Reports indicate that the Brazilian is unlikely to feature against Real Betis in La Liga later this week, with Barcelona instead targeting next week's European clash against PSG for his comeback.
Club president Joan Laporta also suggested that Raphinha should be available for the trip to Paris after receiving an update from the medical team.
The Barcelona captain has been one of the club's most productive players this season. His switch to the centre-forward position has proved effective, with the Brazilian already scoring 14 goals across all competitions.
Despite his absence, Barcelona recorded a convincing victory over Getafe in their first match after the international break. Gabriel Jesus started in the centre-forward role and scored, marking his first start for the Catalan side with a goal.
The Brazilian has now scored three goals since joining the club during the summer, while Anthony Gordon also found the net against Getafe to give manager Hansi Flick another attacking option.
These alternatives have helped Barcelona avoid placing unnecessary pressure on their injured captain as he continues his recovery.
With the PSG encounter approaching, the club will continue to monitor Raphinha's progress carefully. Barcelona are also scheduled to face arch-rivals Real Madrid at Spotify Camp Nou shortly after their European fixture, making the captain's anticipated return a significant boost ahead of both matches.
