Social commentator and entertainment critic Albert Nat Hyde, popularly known as Bongo Ideas, has questioned the apparent silence of Black Stars midfielder Mohammed Kudus during Ghana’s ongoing FIFA World Cup campaign.
In a Facebook post shared on June 25, 2026, Bongo Ideas expressed disappointment over the player’s lack of public support for the national team since the tournament began.
According to him, Kudus, who is currently sidelined due to injury and was left out of Ghana’s World Cup squad, has not publicly wished the team well or shown support for his teammates throughout the competition.
“Kudus has not posted anything about the World Cup since it started. He has not wished the team well. He has not cheered his teammates on. He has not shared anything Ghana. It’s all about his injury and since he’s not in the Black Stars squad, he does not care. This be the starboy?” he wrote.
The social commentator further argued that the player’s popularity may have shielded him from criticism, claiming that many supporters have remained silent on the issue because Kudus is regarded as one of Ghana’s biggest football stars.
He also noted that even a simple message of encouragement to the Black Stars on match days had not been seen from the midfielder, adding, “Just ‘Go Boys’ on match day sef he has not done that. Well, we Dey watch.” He added.
The comments have since generated discussion among football fans on social media, with some agreeing that national team players should publicly support the Black Stars regardless of their involvement, while others believe injured players are under no obligation to make public statements during tournaments.
