According to a Post on Bongo Ideas official facebook account on Saturday, November 7,2026,Ghanaian social commentator Bongo Ideas has criticised the Ghana Football Association (GFA) over its reported decision to spend GH¢84,000 settling medical bills for 16 mothers at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital, questioning whether the association is paying sufficient attention to its core responsibilities.

In a Facebook post, Bongo Ideas acknowledged that helping the mothers secure their discharge from the hospital was a commendable humanitarian gesture. However, he argued that the GFA should prioritise addressing the logistical challenges facing Ghana's national football teams.

The reported payment, made on behalf of the Black Stars ahead of their Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifying matches against Somalia, has prompted the commentator to question the association's spending priorities.

He particularly raised concerns about the reported lack of a modern team bus for the country's national teams, arguing that the GFA should first ensure that footballers and technical teams have access to essential facilities and logistical support.

According to Bongo Ideas, there is nothing wrong with the football governing body extending assistance to people in need, but such interventions should not overshadow its primary responsibility of developing football in Ghana.

He questioned why the association could commit funds to settling hospital bills while basic logistical needs within the national teams remained a concern.

The social commentator further argued that the GFA's mandate should centre on improving football administration, providing adequate infrastructure and ensuring that Ghana's national teams are properly equipped to compete at the international level.

He urged the association to reassess its priorities and concentrate on addressing the challenges affecting the country's football development.
