Arsenal given Yan Diomande verdict amid blistering Real Madrid form

According to a report by FootballTransfers on Tuesday, November 3, 2026, Arsenal have been informed that Yan Diomande is performing above expectations at Real Madrid following an impressive start to his career in Spain after completing a summer move.

The Gunners had previously shown interest in signing the Ivory Coast international before he joined Real Madrid from RB Leipzig in a €125 million (£104 million) deal.

The 19-year-old has quickly established himself as an exciting attacking option at the Santiago Bernabeu, registering seven goal contributions in his last eight appearances.

Diomande has been particularly impressive during the absence of Vinicius Junior, who is currently serving a lengthy domestic suspension.

The young forward has taken advantage of the Brazilian's absence, finding the net against Villarreal, Sevilla, RB Leipzig and Racing Santander.

Diario AS journalist Carlos Forjanes believes the teenager is already producing performances that justify the huge amount Real Madrid paid to secure his services.

He wrote: "Since then, he has left his mark on seven goals, either by scoring them himself (four) or by providing the decisive assist (three)."

Forjanes also drew attention to Diomande's impressive dribbling statistics, revealing that the Ivorian has completed 34 successful dribbles, compared with Kylian Mbappe's 39, despite the French forward spending 512 more minutes on the pitch.

The journalist further noted that Diomande has exceeded expectations, especially considering the opportunity he received following Vinicius' absence.

Arsenal were among several clubs looking to strengthen their attacking options during the summer transfer window.

Mikel Arteta's side explored the possibility of signing Diomande while also considering ambitious moves for Atletico Madrid's Julian Alvarez, Vinicius Junior and Juventus forward Kenan Yildiz.

Although Arsenal failed to secure some of their major attacking targets, they have enjoyed an impressive start to the season, recording 12 victories in 15 matches across all competitions.

The Gunners also strengthened their position with a victory over Liverpool, securing their first win at Anfield since 2012.

Arteta has now shifted his focus to Wednesday's Champions League clash against Slavia Praha, while Diomande will be looking to maintain his impressive form when Real Madrid take on AEK Athens.

The teenager's rapid progress will serve as a reminder of the attacking talent Arsenal considered bringing to the Emirates, with Diomande now making a significant impact at Real Madrid.
