COM 4-1 MNU: Players Responsible For Man Utd Stunning Defeat Against Como

According to a report by Flashscore on Thursday, October 22, 2026, Manchester United suffered a disappointing 4-1 defeat to Como in the Champions League, with defensive errors and missed chances contributing to their heavy loss. Nico Paz opened the scoring in the second minute, taking advantage of United’s slow start.

Despite having possession, Michael Carrick’s side struggled to make their chances count and went into the break trailing by a goal. Anastasios Douvikas extended Como’s lead in the 49th minute before Paz punished a costly defensive mistake to make it 3-0 seven minutes later.

Jacobo Ramon scored Como’s fourth goal in the 76th minute, leaving United facing a humiliating defeat. Joshua Zirkzee managed to pull one back in the 90th minute after Amad Diallo delivered the assist, but the late goal did little to change the outcome.

Five Manchester United players who contributed to the defeat

1. Diogo Dalot

Dalot missed an early opportunity to put United ahead in the second minute, slicing his effort narrowly wide after receiving an accurate pass inside the penalty area. He also conceded a free kick in the sixth minute and delivered a poor cross in the 20th minute, limiting his contribution in attack.

2. Andrey Santos

Santos struggled to maintain discipline in midfield and was booked in the 25th minute following an earlier late challenge. He had also committed a foul in the 21st minute, allowing Como opportunities to move forward. Carrick replaced him at half-time, suggesting that the manager wanted to make changes to his midfield setup.

3. Matheus Cunha

Cunha failed to make a meaningful impact before being substituted at half-time. He committed a foul in the 12th minute and made another strong challenge in the 29th minute. Although Bruno Fernandes created an opportunity for him in the 45th minute, his curling effort sailed just over the crossbar.

4. Bruno Fernandes

Fernandes struggled to influence the match when United needed leadership and attacking quality. In the 61st minute, he opted to shoot from distance despite having several passing options available, sending the ball high over the crossbar. His corner in the 66th minute was also dealt with by Como, while an earlier forward pass had been intercepted.

5. Matthijs de Ligt

De Ligt was part of a defensive unit that conceded four goals, including Paz’s third in the 57th minute following a costly defensive error by United. Como continued to create opportunities after extending their lead, with Ramon heading home the fourth goal in the 76th minute. De Ligt was subsequently substituted in the 79th minute as United struggled to contain their opponents.
