UCL Table After Arsenal Drew 2-2, Manchester United Lost 4-1 and Real Madrid Won 4-1

According to a report by BBC Sport on Thursday, October 22, 2026, Wednesday’s UEFA Champions League matches have shaped the league-phase standings, with Arsenal playing out a 2-2 draw against Bayern Munich, Manchester United suffering a 4-1 defeat to Como, and Real Madrid recording a convincing 4-1 victory over RB Leipzig.

Arsenal travelled to Germany to face Bayern Munich in one of the most anticipated fixtures of the night. The two European giants shared the points after an entertaining 2-2 encounter, leaving both sides with a point each. The result took Arsenal’s tally to seven points from three matches after winning their opening two games. Mikel Arteta and his players will now turn their attention to their next European fixture as they look to maintain their push for qualification.

Manchester United endured a disappointing outing in Italy, where Como secured an impressive 4-1 victory over the English side. Nico Paz played a crucial role in the home team’s performance, scoring twice and providing an assist to inspire Como to victory.

Joshua Zirkzee scored a late goal for United after being set up by Amad Diallo, but his effort could not prevent the defeat. The result leaves Manchester United with just three points from their first three matches, putting pressure on the team to improve their performances in the remaining fixtures.

Real Madrid enjoyed a more successful night, defeating RB Leipzig 4-1 in a dominant performance. The Spanish giants demonstrated their attacking quality throughout the match, securing three important points in their bid to advance in the competition. Arda Güler also found the net, contributing to Real Madrid’s convincing victory and strengthening their position in the standings.

Elsewhere, the competition continued to gather momentum as clubs across Europe battled for favourable positions in the league-phase table. Paris Saint-Germain and Liverpool were among the teams to have made strong starts, while other leading clubs continued their efforts to secure places in the knockout rounds.

The Champions League features 36 clubs competing in a single league phase instead of the traditional group format. Each team plays eight matches against different opponents, with points determining their position in the standings. Goal difference and goals scored are used to separate teams that finish level on points.

At the end of the league phase, the top eight teams will qualify automatically for the Round of 16, while clubs finishing between ninth and 24th place will compete in the knockout phase play-offs for the remaining places. Teams finishing 25th or lower will be eliminated from the competition.

With the league phase progressing, every result could prove decisive in the race for qualification. Arsenal will take encouragement from their draw against Bayern Munich, while Manchester United must respond positively after their heavy defeat to Como. Real Madrid, meanwhile, will hope to build on their impressive victory over RB Leipzig as they continue their pursuit of European glory.
