According to a report by Ghanaweb on Sunday, October 25, 2026, Ghanaian duo Shak Mohammed and Maxwell Woledzi have won the MLS Supporters' Shield with Nashville SC, after the club secured the regular-season title with a 2-0 away victory over CF Montreal on Saturday, October 24, 2026.
Centre-back Woledzi played the entire duration of the match as Nashville held firm on the road, while Mohammed was an unused substitute.
The result handed the Boys in Gold the advantage they needed to clinch the MLS regular-season title with three matches still to play.
Nashville now sit in pole position for the league record, which they can claim if they take five points from the final nine available. A strong finish could therefore turn an already memorable season into a historic one.
The triumph is also a landmark for the club itself. It is Nashville's second piece of major silverware in their history, following last season's U.S. Open Cup.
The Supporters' Shield is awarded to the Major League Soccer club that finishes with the most points in the regular season, before the MLS Cup Playoffs begin. It recognises the best team over the entire regular-season campaign, rewarding consistency across the full season rather than a short knockout run.
For Woledzi and Mohammed, the honour adds a major team trophy to their stint in the American top flight. Their success will be of interest to Ghanaian football followers tracking the progress of players abroad, with both men now part of a title-winning squad.
With three games left, attention will now turn to whether Nashville can finish the job and set the league record, a feat that would crown a season already defined by consistency.
