Owen James departs Stratford Town as Bards bring in Coventry City duo

Stratford Town's leading goalscorer from last season, Owen James, has left the club.

The forward announced his departure in a post on X, thanking the club and supporters for the past two seasons.

He wrote: "Time to move on from Stratford Town and go and enjoy my football again but appreciate everyone there and all the supporters for the last two seasons. It's been a pleasure.”

James made 133 appearances for the Bards, scoring 24 goals, having originally made his debut for the club in 2018.

Meanwhile, the Bards have signed forward Josh Stidder and defender Tionne Critchlow-Woyo on one-month loans from Coventry City.

Critchlow-Woyo started and scored in Saturday's 4-4 draw with Alvechurch, while Stidder came on as an 88th-minute substitute.
