The Boston Bruins found a way to get it done and snap their two-game losing streak.
The Bruins were two goals down in the third period but still ended up with two points yesterday. They beat the Chicago Blackhawks in an Original Six matchup after dropping their last two, and they made sure the Blackhawks’ first road win was not at TD Garden. Five different players scored, including Morgan Geekie with 10.2 seconds left in regulation and Elias Lindholm in overtime.
Elsewhere around the league, there is more fallout from Nikita Kucherov’s trade request. The Lightning are hopeful that he changes his mind, but that’s a lot easier said than done. There are two teams in the Atlantic Division that he would reportedly consider joining.
Dylan Larkin’s situation in Detroit remains unsolved, though he could always change his trade list. A former Red Wings executive had some strong words for the team’s former captain. There’s more about the New Jersey Devils’ 9-5-0 start to the season, the Canadiens without Nick Suzuki, and how bought-in the San Jose Sharks are after an ugly loss to Ottawa.
Happy November! Hope you didn’t forget to change your clocks. Catch up on Bruins and league news in today’s Daily Bean:
David Pastrnak, Casey Mittelstadt, Mason Lohrei, and Morgan Geekie scored in regulation. Michael DiPietro made 37 saves in the win.
The overtime winner was Lindholm’s first as a Boston Bruin.
Friedman also reported that Dylan Larkin may alter his 10-team trade list.
Kucherov also had three assists in Tampa Bay’s 5-4 shootout loss to the Nashville Predators.
