Myles Garrett is getting closer to a return to the Rams lineup.
Head coach Sean McVay said at a Monday press conference that the pass rusher will practice this week. That will mark his first time on the field since having knee surgery after Week 1 of the regular season.
Garrett’s return will open a 21-day window for him to practice with the team and he could be activated from injured reserve at any point. McVay said the team will take their time this week before deciding if Garrett will play against the Commanders in Week 9.
Defensive tackle Aaron Donald did not play in the opener, so the Rams have yet to have their two marquee offseason additions in the lineup at the same time. Monday’s announcement points to McVay and the Rams getting their first chance to see the duo share the field in the near future.
