The first game since the changing of the clocks, but it wasn’t to be any change for Daniel Farke’s men, as Leeds once again showed the defensive aptitude to keep a clean sheet away from home against Sunderland.
Despite the defensive performance, there was much to be desired at the top end of the pitch, as no goals scored against a bottom-of-the-league Sunderland is disappointing.
However, with still only one loss in the league in eight games, Leeds’ impressive start is continuing and it’s starting to look like more of a regular outcome rather than a good start, although only two goals scored in the league since their 4-1 thumping of Newcastle in September could be cause for concern.
In very difficult conditions, Trafford had one of his best games in a Leeds shirt, making four saves, including two impressive stops from shots against Brian Brobbey to keep his third clean sheet of the season.
Clean sheet, got forward on the overlap well, covered the most distance in the match, very impressive for someone playing as a centre-back. Solid performance.
Coming into the side for the injured Nico Elvedi and instantly racking up 15 defensive contributions and winning 5/7 of his duels did not make Elvedi as big of a miss as Daniel Farke may have initially feared.
Yet again, another solid performance for Muharemovic; always puts in a good shift and is tough to get past, could have scored from a corner just after half-time, but his effort was saved by Roefs.
Not as good of a performance as has been seen from him in recent weeks, only won 8/14 of his duels, completed the most dribbles in the game, won a few fouls, but unnecessarily picked up a yellow card for which the challenge could have been a red.
Similar to Muharemovic, he just always seems to put in a good performance, very rarely has a bad game, and never seems to be the standout player.
Played as well as Ampadu, didn’t cover as much ground as he normally does or as much as Ampadu, but both centre-midfielders picked up 10 defensive contributions and won a fair few duels.
Played okay, won 6/7 of his duels, but no accurate crosses for a wing-back is very disappointing.
Finally given his chance to show himself in the league and he did not take it well, was okay on set-piece delivery, but apart from that, a fairly nothing performance.
Had no service, could not get into the game at all, some good hold-up play in moments, but 0 shots and 0/7 duels won is very poor for a starting striker.
Aaronson and Wilson both created two chances each, but neither were good enough to give Leeds a clear chance; similar to Wilson, he just had a game where he could not do anything to affect the match.
Got into some good positions after coming on and caused some threat, but no outcome from the change.
Was barely even noticeable when he came on, won 3/4 duels however.
Was not brought on for long enough to have an impact on the game.
Two shots on target in 10 minutes and brought some much-needed energy onto the pitch for the final few attacks.
