Instant analysis of Colts' Week 7 loss vs. Vikings

The Indianapolis Colts held the lead for much of Sunday's game in Minnesota, but eventually fell to the Vikings, 16-10.

With the clock at zero, here are our instant takeaways from the Colts' performance.

- Now 2-5 on the season, the Colts are one step closer to becoming sellers at the Nov. 10 trade deadline.

- Spencer Shrader had been so good all season but missed two kicks in this game. That's just how this season has gone for the Colts.

- It wasn't perfect, but the Colts' defense was flying around in this game. It was a fast and physical performance. However, injuries in the secondary and a lack of help from the offense proved to be too much to overcome.

- We saw several members of the Colts' rookie class make plays, including Seth McGowan, AJ Haulcy, and Deion Burks.

- Daniel Jones and the Colts' passing game couldn't get anything going. Jones threw for just over 100 yards and had a few near-interceptions to go along with his one actual interception.

- The offense as a whole didn't produce much. The Colts averaged just 3.7 yards per play. For some context, over the course of this season, the Eagles rank last in that category, averaging 4.4 yards per play.

- The blitz-heavy Vikings had Jones under pressure for much of the day. According to PFF's early tracking data, Jones was pressured on over 50% of his dropbacks.

- Adetomiwa Adebawore continues to flash as a pass rusher this season. It's been a solid season for him.

- Again, it was a mostly quiet performance from the Colts' pass rush.

- Despite the lack of points and production from the Colts, the offense was actually quite good on third downs. However, it didn't turn into many scoring opportunities.

- Jonathan Taylor finished with 95 rushing yards, averaging 5.3 yards per carry, although if you take his 38-yard touchdown run out, he totaled just 57 yards on 17 attempts. That averages out to 3.3 yards per rush.

- The Colts made only one red zone trip and were unable to score a touchdown. Minnesota was 1-for-2 on their red zone opportunities.
