Why Leny Yoro is not in Man United squad for Champions League clash vs Como
Manchester United boss Michael Carrick will be forced to make do without Leny Yoro for their Champions League clash away at Como
Leny Yoro was sent off for his foul on Jonathan David
All you need to know about Leny Yoro's Champions League suspension
Red card against Atlético: Leny Yoro was sent off in the 74th minute of United's 2–0 loss away at Atlético Madrid last week. Following a VAR review, the referee ruled that he committed a professional foul on striker Jonathan David.
Automatic UEFA suspension: UEFA rules dictate an automatic suspension for any player shown a direct red card during competition matches. Because of this, Yoro is strictly prohibited from taking to the pitch against Como on Wednesday.
One-match ban: His Champions League suspension lasts for exactly one match. He serves the penalty during the Matchday 3 clash with Como.
Return for Matchday 4: Because denying an obvious goalscoring opportunity carries a standard single-game ban, no additional disciplinary suspension was imposed. He will be fully eligible to return for United's next Champions League fixture, which will be at home against Roma on November 3.
Como clash: Michael Carrick will be forced to rethink his backline for the clash with Como, which gets underway in Italy at 5.45pm UK time on Wednesday. The game will be shown live on TNT Sports 2, which you can access below.
