Mahomes finds underrated rookie for 73-yard TD vs. Broncos in Week 8

The Kansas City Chiefs extended their lead over the Denver Broncos in Week 8 of the 2026 NFL regular season when star quarterback Patrick Mahomes found rookie running back Emmett Johnson for a 73-yard touchdown in the second quarter.

Mahomes previously connected with veteran wide receiver Rashee Rice to give Kansas City an early advantage, and followed up his outstanding first-quarter performance with a sterling outing in the game's second frame.

Take a look at Mahomes' incredible floating pass to Johnson in this video, which was posted to Twitter by the Chiefs' official account during Kansas City's rivalry matchup against Denver:

While Johnson will continue to play second fiddle to Super Bowl LX MVP Kenneth Walker III in the Chiefs' backfield, head coach Andy Reid may decide to give Johnson extra playing time after his long catch-and-run in Week 8.

Stay tuned to find out if Mahomes and Johnson will continue to connect in the second half.
