Rams run all over Raiders, 35-21: Instant analysis of LA's big win

Riding a two-game losing streak and sitting in last place in the division, the Los Angeles Rams were in desperate need of a win on Sunday against the Las Vegas Raiders. And after all the injuries and criticism they've faced, they answered with a strong win on the road.

They dominated the first half and built a 28-6 lead before halftime, scoring touchdowns on four straight drives. The wheels then came off in the second half with four consecutive drives that resulted in two punts and two giveaways. Kyren Williams fumbled on the first play of one drive and Colby Parkinson dropped a pass that turned into an interception on the first play of another drive, causing the offense to sputter.

Fortunately, they got back on track in the fourth quarter and moved the ball well after the Raiders cut it to a 10-point game, going 70 yards in 12 plays and burning 6:38 off the clock to ice it with Blake Corum's 4-yard touchdown run. That essentially put the game out of reach for Las Vegas, which added a field goal in the fourth quarter to make it a 14-point game.

The Rams rushed for 199 yards in the win, led by Kyren Williams' 99 yards and Corum's 93 yards. Here's a recap of Los Angeles' big 14-point win.

Final score: Rams 35, Raiders 21

Play of the game

It wasn't the longest play of the day, but it was arguably the most important. Tyler Higbee went up and made this grab on third-and-2 when the Rams offense was sputtering, moving the chains in a crucial spot after the Raiders had gained a lot of momentum and cut the lead to just 10 points.

What's next?

The Rams will head back home to take on the Chargers in Week 8, hoping to keep building on the momentum from Sunday's win. The Chargers are the only winless team in the NFL so the Rams will try to avoid giving their citymates their first victory of the season. The Chargers had a bye in Week 7 so they will be well-rested and playing at home at SoFi Stadium despite being the road team.
