Chargers lose running back to NFC East team ahead of Week 8

The Chargers have lost one of their preseason standout performers to the Giants.

Running back Greg Desrosiers has signed a deal with the Giants. He will join their active roster.

Desrosiers, one of the Chargers' preseason standouts, spent the first seven weeks of the season on the practice squad.

Desrosiers went undrafted after the 2026 NFL Draft and signed with the Chargers.

The 25-year-old has yet to play a professional snap; however, he proved that he had the chops to play at the next level in the team’s final preseason game in late August.

In the team’s final preseason game, Desrosiers rushed for 118 yards on nine carries and scored one touchdown.

Overall, Desrosiers rushed for 166 yards on 23 carries. After failing to make the 53-man roster, the Chargers signed him to the practice squad. He spent nearly two months there before the Giants signed him.

Desrosiers will now head to the East Coast and play a role in the Giants' backfield.
