RBs Barkley and Shipley out among injuries for Eagles vs Panthers

Among the Philadelphia Eagles' injuries for their Week 6 game are running backs Saquon Barkley and Will Shipley, as well as quarterback Jalen Hurts.

The Philadelphia Eagles are pretty banged up going into their Week 6 game against the Carolina Panthers. Quarterback Jalen Hurts was ruled out yesterday due to a blood clot. They have also officially ruled out running backs Saquon Barkley and Will Shipley. Shipley was also put on injured reserve, ruling him out for at least the next four games.

With Philadelphia officially down their top three running backs, Dameon Pierce is expected to get the bulk of the carries. Also, with Hurts out and backup quarterback Andy Dalton waived a week ago, Tanner McKee is expected to start. The other two quarterbacks are rookie Cole Payton and Joe Milton III, whom the team signed off the Dallas Cowboys’ practice squad. Together, the three have two starts in the NFL.

Two other players have been ruled out for Philadelphia. Safety Michael Carter has also been ruled out with an abdominal injury. Linebacker Jalyx Hunt will also miss the game with knee and ankle injuries. This will be the first game of the season either player misses.

In some positive injury news for the Eagles, they could get Pro Bowl left guard Landon Dickerson back, as he is designated to return and is officially listed as questionable. Wide receivers Devonta Smith and Marquise Brown have no injury designation, so those are a few bright spots for Philadelphia going into this game.
