Green Bay Packers star Micah Parsons returns to practice on Nov. 4

GREEN BAY − Green Bay Packers star edge defender Micah Parsons made his long-awaited return to practice on Nov. 4.

Packers coach Matt LaFleur said Parsons will participate only in individual drills for practice, but he has been fully cleared.

It’s been almost 11 months since Parsons has been on the field. He tore his ACL and meniscus on Dec. 14 during the Packers’ Week 15 game at Denver. He had surgery to repair the injuries Dec. 29, forcing him to miss the entire offseason and open the regular season on the physically-unable-to-perform list.

Parsons’ return to practice opens his 21-day practice window. Parsons can return anytime within those 21 days, but no later.

LaFleur, who previously said he expects Parsons will need most of the practice time before he’s ready to play, called Parsons a “generational talent” and his presence on the field will be a morale boost to the team.

"I think it's been a long time coming,” LaFleur said. “He's put in a lot of work and effort into this. To get him back out there will be a big boost for our team."

Four players didn’t participate in the Nov. 4 practice. Here’s the latest:

Sean Rhyan injury update

Packers center Sean Rhyan didn’t participate in practice.

Rhyan suffered a high-ankle sprain early during the Packers’ Week 7 game against the Detroit Lions and was ruled out for the Week 8 matchup with the Carolina Panthers.

John Williams stepped in at center.

Zaire Franklin injury update

Packers linebacker Zaire Franklin was held out of practice.

Franklin missed the past two games due to a shin injury he suffered in practice. Said LaFleur, "He's making a lot of progress, though, so hopeful sooner than later."

Travis Glover injury update

Packers offensive lineman Travis Glover didn’t participate in practice.

Glover, who stepped in at right guard, played the full game against the Lions, but then coaches learned of his knee injury the following day.

He missed the Panthers game due to a knee injury.

Laken Tomlinson moved over to play right guard once Aaron Banks returned to the left side.

Josh Whyle injury update

Packers tight end Josh Whyle was ruled out of practice.

Whyle exited the Panthers game early and was put in concussion protocol.

Chris Brooks injury update

Packers running back Chris Brooks returned to practice, opening his 21-day practice window.

Brooks played in the first four games of the season, but was placed on injured reserve Oct. 10 after injuring his ankle in the Week 4 game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
