Newcastle United will square up to an Everton side without Jack Grealish involved - after the former England man was told to stay at home.
Grealish was expected to be in the squad for the crunch last 16 tie with Newcastle on Merseyside but the Toffees circulated a press statement as the team news dropped. It read: "Jack Grealish is unavailable for selection due to a breach of Club discipline."
The news boosted Newcastle who fielded a strong team at the Hill Dickinson Stadium as they bid to reach the quarter-finals and take on Fleetwood Town of League Two.
Newcastle made just one change to the line-up to face Everton with Jacob Ramsey coming in for Joelinton. Both Lewis Miley and Matias Fernandez-Pardo missed out due to a glutes issue for the Stanley lad and illness for the ex-Lille youngster.
A Newcastle team bulletin read: "Ramsey's inclusion in the Magpies line-up for the first time since September's third round win at Millwall is head coach Matthias Jaissle's only change from the side that beat Crystal Palace 2-0 in the Premier League on Sunday.
"That means Lukáš Horníček continues in goal, with Amar Dedić, Fabian Schär, captain Dan Burn and Lewis Hall forming a back four.
"Nico González partners Ramsey in midfield, with Joe Willock also in from the start and Jacob Murphy and Harvey Barnes out wide.
"Will Osula - who, along with Barnes, was on target at Selhurst Park at the weekend - leads the line at the Hill Dickinson Stadium.
"The Magpies' bench is once again a strong one, with Anthony Elanga, Yoane Wissa, Bazoumana Touré and Joelinton all included.
"Sean Steur and Aladji Bamba are also named, along with Sven Botman, Malick Thiaw and Nick Pope."
