Breece Hall missed his fifth straight game with a quad injury on Sunday and Braelon Allen continued to shine in his absence.
Allen ran 21 times for 147 yards and a touchdown in the 38-33 loss to the Raiders and he’s averaging just over 100 yards a game while Hall has been out of the lineup. Hall has practiced the last two weeks and he’s been scratched after being listed as questionable, which has joined Allen’s performance as reasons for some to wonder if the Jets might be thinking about trading Hall ahead of the November 10 deadline.
At a Monday morning press conference, head coach Aaron Glenn said that will not happen.
“Breece is still a part of this team,” Glenn said, via Zack Rosenblatt of TheAthletic.com. “I’ve said it before: We’re in the business of keeping good players and he’s one of our better players so he’ll be here.”
The Jets have also reportedly rebuffed overtures from teams interested in trading for wide receiver Garrett Wilson, so it does not appear that their 2-6 start is going to lead to a fire sale over the next week.
