With the exception of Week 2 and Week 7, the Denver Broncos' rushing attack has been a struggling unit. When rookie running back Jonah Coleman went on the injured reserve, it was up to veterans J.K. Dobbins, RJ Harvey and Tyler Badie to carry the load, and in three of the four games without Coleman, the unit failed to hit 100 yards rushing, and in two of those four games, they failed to hit even 80 yards rushing. It's with this mentality that the Broncos want to address the elephant in the room.
In recent days and weeks, the Broncos have been linked to Indianapolis Colts running back Jonathon Taylor. Taylor, who led the NFL in rushing touchdowns and was third in the NFL in rushing yards last season, may be a coveted target across the league ahead of the Nov. 10 trade deadline.
In a conversation on NFL on CBS, former NFL offensive lineman Terron Armstead did nothing to quell the rumors; in fact, he may only accelerated them.
"You play the game for winning and for finances," Armstead said. "Jonathon Taylor, he has his contract in place, it's time to go win. He's done it; he's been an All-Pro, he's led the league in rushing, he's done all these things, it's time to go win. I strongly feel like Denver Broncos would be the ideal fit for him, and they are willing — we saw Denver send a first-round pick to the Miami Dolphins for Jaylen Waddle. Don't put it past these guys to put a package together to get a Jonathon Taylor."
You can see Armstead's full comments below.
Taylor's rushing prowess and ability would certainly give a massive boost to the Broncos' rushing attach, which has seen heavy ups and downs through the past few seasons, and not having a 1,000-yard rusher since Phillip Lindsay.
The Colts seem to be holding a no-holds-barred fire sale, and Taylor may be a part of it between now and Nov. 10. The price for Taylor will be the kicker. Will Denver pull the trigger?
