Bangladesh veteran Litton Das underwent medical assessment following a right hip joint injury that ruled him out of the ODI tri-series in the UAE involving Afghanistan and Zimbabwe. The Bangladesh Cricket Board medical department examined the player and conducted imaging to determine the extent of the damage ahead of the upcoming Test series against West Indies.
Litton met BCB physicians and underwent light physiotherapy at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium on Monday, October 19. A BCB medical committee member confirmed the initial findings from the diagnostic scans.
“Yes, Litton came today to meet us. There was nothing significantly bad in his scan report, but there is a slight muscle issue. We saw it [scan report] and did a light physiotherapy today. Tomorrow we will also do a light physiotherapy session, and after two days we will be able to say where he stands, as far as his injury is concerned,” a member of the BCB committee said as quoted by Cricbuzz.
“We are hopeful that he will be available for the Test series against West Indies but we cannot say anything firmly before seeing his progress for a couple of days. But there is nothing at the moment as far as his hip-joint is concerned,” he added.

Spinner Nayeem Hasan sustained a right hamstring strain while fielding in the one-off Test against Afghanistan in Abu Dhabi. His foot caught on the heavy outfield while diving to save a boundary off Taijul Islam's bowling, forcing him to play with strapping through the fourth and fifth days of the match. Despite the injury, Nayeem managed to complete the Test without significant complications.
The BCB medical staff warned that high-speed running with sharp braking action carried risk of a more serious tear. Nayeem was placed on a structured rehabilitation programme and asked not to participate in the ongoing National Cricket League round. However, the spinner has shown positive signs in his recovery.
“The scan didn't find anything majorly bad. It's not a major injury like that. He will undergo a formal fitness Test on October 22,” said the official.
“I started bowling today and didn't feel any discomfort, now looking forward to the scheduled fitness to get clearance from the medical team,” said the off-spinner.
The West Indies team arrived in Dhaka on Sunday, October 18, and began preparation at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium from Tuesday, October 20. A two-day warm-up match against BCB XI took place from October 22 at Basundhara. The first Test began in Dhaka on October 28, with the second Test scheduled to start in Sylhet from November 5.
