After the Denver Broncos' Week 7 win over the Arizona Cardinals, quarterback Bo Nix had just his third 200+ yard performance of the season in the victory, with two total touchdowns and no turnovers. Nix broke a streak of games with less than 130 yards passing, and made history in the process.
Quarterback guru Tim Jenkins stood by Nix through his struggles, and got the performance he was looking for out of the Broncos signal-caller in Week 7.
"We've got the elusive green marker because it was a good day," Jenkins said of Nix. "I'm going to try to not do this breakdown as if it's like a I told you so."
Among the clips Jenkins broke down was the very first throw from Nix, which was a 20-yard dart to wide receiver Courtland Sutton in the first quarter. .
"We are opening up with a little bit of empty, Sutton on the bender," Jenkins said. "Just a nice little airy yard dime for the haters... But I do think like, I do think generally much more aggressive style of play calling. I also think, you know it'd be naive to think that this doesn't have anything to do with the fact that we're playing a defense that we felt like we could do this against versus the Seattle Seahawks who, oh by the way, make a lot of people look just completely normal. So just is what it is."
Jenkins loved Nix's historic 62-yard touchdown run, which put Denver ahead for good in the second quarter.
"Man, I just love this is just unreal," Jenkins said. "How about a little jump (at the end)? Whoop! Yep. Why not us? Why not us, 10? Why not us, 10? That just big-time stuff from the quarterback going and making a play."
Jenkins ended his analysis with a confident look at Nix.
"I felt like it was another (game) that Bo was hunting with the football," Jenkins said. "So all in all, man, I think it was a little bit of an overreaction last Thursday and then now I think it's important that we don't overreact the other way. I think this is just another important building block for this Broncos offense."

Jenkins and Broncos Country hope that Nix can put together another strong game in Week 8 when Denver faces the Kansas City Chiefs at Empower Field at Mile High on Sunday.
