This weekend will feature one of the most anticipated matchups of Week 7 of the 2026 regular college football season as No. 4 Ohio State Buckeyes take on the defending national champions, No. 5 Indiana Hoosiers, at Memorial Stadium in Bloomington, Indiana.

Ahead of this blockbuster encounter, Barstool Sports founder and college football fanatic Dave Portnoy has already chosen his side, backing Indiana head coach Curt Cignetti to emerge victorious against Ryan Day’s Ohio State.

Portnoy, alongside other Barstool Sports analysts, on Friday, while praising Cignetti, opined that Ryan Day’s success at Ohio State is only because of his roster strength, claiming the head coach wouldn’t replicate the same results at a different program.

“Cignetti is clearly a superstar coach and it doesn’t matter where he went. Ryan Day would be unsuccessful at any program other than Ohio State. He was given a cupboard full of superstars. He could never build a program. He could never do what Cignetti did,” Portnoy said (0:45).

“If this game is close coming down the 4th quarter, Cignetti is about 100x the game coach that Ryan Day is,” he further elaborated (0:27).

While the Ohio State Buckeyes enter the matchup with a conference record of 3-0 and an overall record of 5-1, with their sole loss coming at the hands of the Texas Longhorns in Week 2, the Indiana Hoosiers are currently undefeated, as they boast an impressive 6-0 overall record.

Ohio State Buckeyes Vs. Indiana Hoosiers Head-To-Head Record

Despite Dave Portnoy vehemently supporting the Indiana Hoosiers to triumph over the Ohio State Buckeyes on Saturday, the historic head-to-head record between these two programs clearly favors the visiting team.

Ohio State has won a whopping 81 times against Indiana, which in turn has been victorious in 13 encounters, with five games ending in a tie.
