The Chicago Bears were outstanding at Soldier Field, taking down the New England Patriots on Thursday Night Football. Coach Ben Johnson and his team secured a 30-24 victory, with quarterback Caleb Williams once again putting on a show with his stellar accuracy.
After the game, locker room celebrations went viral as the head coach handed out game balls to four of his key players.
Johnson made sure to credit his team for maintaining composure throughout the game. Despite a second-quarter lapse by the defense, the Bears regained control and held on to their lead in the second half.
Bears fans, meanwhile, were impressed by Johnson’s energetic locker room speech.
When the two quarterbacks from the 2024 draft class faced off, an intense matchup was expected. The game lived up to the hype, with Caleb Williams recording his second 300-yard passing game of the season.
He completed 22 of 33 passes for 308 yards and two touchdowns with one interception.
“Thursday night football is ugly. It can get ugly, right? There’s some ups, there’s some downs throughout, and yeah, you guys didn’t waver for one second,” Johnson said in his postgame locker room speech.
“Stayed the course, poise, all right, under control the entire time. Hell of a job. We knew it was going to take 60 minutes. That’s a good team now. That’s a good team. It took all 60 minutes, and we made a couple more plays. All right, so hell of a job,” he added before handing out game balls and hitting the Stanky Leg with his players in the locker room.
The Bears wasted little time posting that video on social media, leaving fans fired up after a primetime win.
“Prayed for times like this,” one fan wrote in response to the clip.
“Ben Johnson and CW18 saved me, man,” another fan wrote, reflecting on the team’s performance.
“GOD I LOVE BEN, HE SAVED MY LIFE,” another fan added. Similarly, yet another was impressed by the head coach’s fiery speech to his players. “This guy sounds like a coach,” the user wrote.
Recognizing his players’ efforts, Johnson awarded game balls to wide receiver Luther Burden III, wide receiver Rome Odunze, linebacker D’Marco Jackson, and kicker Cairo Santos.
According to PFN’s NFL Team Impact Rankings, the Bears currently sit at No. 9. With the win, they’ve improved to 5-2 on the season.
Next up, they will face the Seattle Seahawks on Monday night, November 2, 2026. The game is scheduled to kick off at 5:15 p.m. PT at Lumen Field.
