Josh Lawrenson and Jonty Jenner shone as Jersey got back to winning ways

Jonty Jenner and Josh Lawrenson showed their class as Jersey defeated Denmark by 72 runs in the ICC Challenge League in Nairobi.

The Islanders were already guaranteed to progress to the next stage of qualifying for the Cricket World Cup but needed to bounce back after defeat to Kuwait on Tuesday.

Jenner and Lawrenson both made 81, as Jersey scored 312 for eight from 50 overs. Julius Sumerauer and Benjamin Ward also got in on the action, scoring 43 and 31, respectively.

But when Denmark stepped up to bat, they could not keep up. Lucky Ali hit 63 but was no match for Zak Tribe and Benjamin Ward, who claimed three wickets each. In the end the Danes crashed out for 240.

Jersey have one remaining fixture to play in their Challenge League A campaign, against Qatar on Saturday.

The last time the two sides met was in August 2025, where Jersey won by eight wickets.
