MIAA football championships will not be played at Gillette Stadium
The West Boylston cheerleaders perform versus Carver in the Division 8 Super Bowl at Gillette Stadium on Wednesday November 29, 2023.

For the first time since 2007, the high school football Super Bowls will no longer be hosted at Gillette Stadium, the Massachusetts Interscholastic Athletic Association announced in an email on Monday, Nov. 2.

The release stated the MIAA, "was informed late last week that the utilization of Gillette Stadium for the MIAA Football Championships is no longer an option.

We thank the Patriots organization for hosting this event for nearly two decades.

Whereas the 2026 MIAA Football Tournament begins this week, we will work diligently to secure host sites that provide the best possible championship experience for our student athletes and our school communities."

The MIAA released seedings for the high school football playoffs on Sunday, with games starting on Thursday.

Before Gillette Stadium took on hosting duties, the high school football championship games, which are played in the first week of December, were held at a college location or larger high school venues such as Doyle Field in Leominster.
