Celtic are looking at centre-back options ahead of the January transfer window, but Viking defender Henrik Heggheim is not currently believed to be a target.

Heggheim has impressed in Norway with Viking and has previous experience at Brøndby, while his contract runs until 2028.

However, while Celtic are assessing the centre-back market ahead of January, CeltsAreHere understands Heggheim is not believed to be one of the names currently being seriously pursued.

Liam Scales has also been heavily relied upon, which has shown how quickly Celtic can look short in that area when injuries and absences hit at the same time.

That does not mean a major defensive rebuild is coming in January.

Heggheim’s name may be linked with other clubs, but at this stage he is not believed to be a Celtic target.

January planning is underway, and centre-back is part of that conversation. The current understanding, though, is that Celtic’s search is focused away from the Viking defender.
