The West Linton outfit travelled to Beechwood Park looking to get the better of the East of Scotland Second Division North West leaders but quickly found themselves two goals down and were unable to recover.
Josh Cameron opened the scoring on 11 minutes before defender Dean McConnell doubled the Fulshie’s advantage midway through the first half.
A quickfire double in the second half put paid to any hopes Linton had of staging a comeback as Cameron doubled his tally for the afternoon on 65 minutes before prolific striker Ryan Robertson netted his seventh goal in the last five games for the hosts.
That result, coupled with Tynecastle’s victory at Vale of Leithen, saw Hotspur drop into third place in the East of Scotland Second Division South East table on goal difference. They now sit eight points behind leaders Edinburgh United and have played a game more than the capital club.
They’re inactive this weekend before returning to action on October 31st when they play host to Fauldhouse United in an inter-conference league fixture. Kick-off at New Moor Road is 2pm.
