The brace against Real Madrid confirmed Donyell Malen’s extraordinary form, as he continues to dominate Roma’s season.

On the first night of the Champions League season at the Olimpico, the Dutch striker troubled the Spanish defense, bringing the Giallorossi to the brink of a prestigious victory.

Only Rudiger’s 90th-minute goal prevented the Roman side from celebrating a victory that would have been particularly significant.

The statistics surrounding the former Aston Villa player’s performance are especially impressive.

According to Opta data, since his arrival in the capital, only two players have scored more goals: Harry Kane, first with 38 goals, and Raphinha, second with 24.

Malen is right behind them, with 23 goals, joining a ranking dominated by some of the best attacking players in European football.

This statistic attests to the Dutchman’s consistency in scoring and the importance he has assumed in the Roma attack.
