Texas has flipped another linebacker. Three-star 2027 prospect Jason Crenshaw Jr. has flipped his commitment from Georgia Tech to Texas. The Prattville, Alabama native joins RJ Hudson in the Longhorns recruiting class, who flipped earlier this week to UT from Clemson.
The 6-foot-2, 220-pound prospect has been committed to Georgia Tech since June 11. He was offered by Texas defensive coordinator Will Muschamp two months ago and reportedly made his decision after an official visit on October 24th.
After his visit, Crenshaw told Inside Texas, "Texas definitely made a strong impression on me and took a big step in my recruitment. I'm still committed to Georgia Tech, but Texas is definitely a program I'm taking seriously."
Before this week, Texas didn't have a linebacker committed to the 2027 recruiting class. Now coach Steve Sarkisian has two.
Crenshaw is the No. 894 overall prospect, No. 73 LB and No. 38 rated player for the Class of 2027 according to the Rivals Industry Rankings.
The linebacker has had a very strong senior campaign. Through nine games, he has produced 56 tackles, 19 tackles for loss, 8 sacks, one forced fumble.
