West Wight swimmers achieve 36 personal bests at meet

The team participated in the COSS James Moreno Open Meet on October 17 and 18.

Ten swimmers competed over two days, achieving 36 personal bests, five medals, and one county qualifying time.

They also posted 13 new times in events they had never raced before.

The young squad impressed other teams and members of the public with their improved confidence and maturity, receiving praise for their conduct and mutual support throughout the weekend.

The swimmers took greater responsibility for their performances, developing and executing their own race plans and maintaining a positive outlook with each result.

The weekend highlighted not only outstanding swimming but also the growing team spirit, independence, and determination within the West Wight squad.

With such a promising start, the club is eagerly anticipating a busy season ahead.

To support the team, the community can participate in a fundraising raffle with more than £500 worth of prizes.

Details are available on the club's Facebook page or at West Wight Sports and Community Centre.
