The 2026 WNBA Finals is set to go to Game 6, as the Atlanta Dream and the Golden State Valkyries are tied 2-2. The big question about the home arena is back, as Game 6 is scheduled for Thursday, the same day the NBA’s Atlanta Hawks are scheduled to play a regular-season game. Fans reacted to the possibility of the Dream returning to their 3,500-seat Gateway Center.

Before the finals began, the WNBA altered the schedule so the Dream would host games at State Farm Arena. While fans expect the league to do it again, the team is reportedly set to play at Gateway Center until any further announcement.

Front Office Sports shared the report on X:

“The Dream will host Game 6 in the 3,500-seat Gateway Center instead of the 17,000-seat State Farm Arena unless the WNBA makes changes to the series schedule, a team spokesperson tells FOS.”

A few fans reacted to the update and requested that the league reschedule the game once again so that more fans could attend and see the high-intensity matchup. One wrote:

“Rec league scheduling energy.”

Angel Reese and the Dream will return to Golden State for Game 5 on Monday. The series has been filled with intensity and defensive talent across the court, and the fifth game will be a race to come out in front before the series transitions to a nerve-wracking phase.

ESPN analyst shares a rescheduling scenario for the Dream

While fans and players await the league’s decision on Game 6, ESPN analyst Alexa Philippou shared a possibility of how the league could reschedule games to avoid clashing with the NBA’s regular season games on X:

“One proposal would move Game 6 to Friday, Oct. 30 and Game 7, if necessary, from Saturday, Oct. 31 to Tuesday, Nov. 3. That would mean three days between each of Games 5/6 and 6/7. The WNBA would support that proposal, but only if both teams agree to it, sources said.”

Angel Reese will look to return to her groove in the next game after a dismal performance in Game 4. Game 5 will be a show of determination, and fans are up for an entertaining matchup.
