Cole Custer returns to Haas Factory Team for 2027 NASCAR Cup season

Cole Custer will remain with Haas Factory Team for the 2027 NASCAR Cup Series season. The organization announced on October 9 that Custer will return behind the wheel of the No. 41 Chevrolet, marking his third consecutive season with the team since its restructuring.

Custer has maintained a longstanding relationship with team owner Gene Haas, dating back to his time competing for Stewart-Haas Racing. Following the closure of Stewart-Haas Racing after the 2024 season, Haas established the single-car Cup Series operation and selected Custer to lead the program beginning in 2025.

The 28-year-old driver has experienced challenges throughout the 2026 season, struggling to consistently compete near the front of the field. However, Custer recently delivered his best performance of the year, finishing fifth at Talladega Superspeedway. The result marked his first top-five finish of the season and provided momentum entering the final two races.
