Hibs no longer bottom of the table after draw in Paisley

Reedijk made one change to his starting line up with Nicky Cadden replacing Thibault Klidje.

St Mirren manager Craig McLeish made one change to the side that started their 2-1 victory over Dundee at the weekend with Chris Mochrie replacing Ismeal Kabia.

Hibs wore their purple and  black strip for the game and were fortunate not to concede after two minutes when Mochrie sent in a dangerous cross from the left but Luke Thomas was unable to get the ball under control and the danger was cleared.

Hibs though started to dominate possession with Cadden causing problems down the left.

Killian Phillips delivered a St Mirren corner high towards the back post, Marcus Fraser got his head to it but was unable to direct his attempt on target.

Up the other end, Owen Elding fired a powerful shot into the side-netting, but the offside flag was raised.

And that was about the extent of an underwhelming first-half.

Shortly after the restart a poor clearance from St Mirren goalkeeper Jacob Chapman presented Joe Newell with a chance from distance but he couldn’t find the target.

St Mirren had a penalty claim when Felix Passlack fell onto the ball inside his own box, but the referee waved play on.

At the other end Newell played a teasing cross into the Buddies box but there’s no one to take advantage,

Then a corner was cleared into the path of Elding, who smashed a shot just over Jacob Chapman’s crossbar.

Then with 12-minutes remaining Hibs took the lead following a stramash in the area and Marko Ivezic fired the ball into the net to the delight of the travelling supporters.

St Mirren almost equalised moments later after another scramble in the Hibs box as Samuel Ramos hit it wide from close range.

But the equaliser arrived a minute later.

Killian Phillip’s corner found Paul Nsio and his shot hit goalkeeper Raphael Sallinger then went into the net via Jason Kerr.

The Saints pressed for a winner and Calvin Ramsay fired over then Sallinger was forced into a save at his near post.

But it was not to be and the game ended all square.
