Rams have lost third-most player value to injuries in 2026

The Los Angeles Rams have been among the NFL's most affected teams by injuries this season, and their latest loss will only add to the damage.

According to Stick to the Model's injury tracker through Week 8, the Rams have lost $37 million in player value due to injuries, the third-highest total in the NFL. Only the Packers ($42.1 million) and Patriots ($40.3 million) have lost more.

The tracker calculates the value lost when a starter misses a game, with each absence costing 1/17 of what that player's grade earns at his position.

Myles Garrett and Puka Nacua have accounted for two of the Rams' biggest losses, according to Stick to the Model. Garrett has missed seven games due to a knee injury, while Nacua missed two games earlier this year with a groin injury. Cornerback Trent McDuffie also missed Weeks 6 and 7 with a groin injury. Fortunately, Garrett is at least getting closer to returning from injured reserve after suffering a knee injury in Week 1.

Los Angeles also recently suffered another significant blow when cornerback Jaylen Watson was ruled out for the remainder of the season with a shoulder injury requiring surgery.

Interestingly, the Rams haven't lost nearly as many games from their starters as some other teams. They've had 28 starter games missed due to injury or illness, just above the league average of 25.5 and tied for 12th-most.

That makes their third-place standing in player value lost particularly notable. The Rams haven't necessarily had the most absences, but the players they've lost have carried significant value.

With Watson now joining the list of season-altering injuries, Los Angeles will have to continue finding ways to overcome the attrition as it pushes through the second half of the season.
