Alex Iwobi played with and against some top players during his time at Arsenal.

Iwobi made nearly 150 appearances for the Gunners before moving on to be a star for Everton and since then, Fulham. In that time period, it’s safe to say he’s seen some genuine superstars.

However, picking the best a player has ever played alongside can be tough at times, given the talent.

But for Iwobi, after being asked just who the best he’d ever played alongside was, it came down to a man who many Arsenal fans loved.

Alex Iwobi names Santi Cazorla as his greatest ever player

With Iwobi having been part of Arsenal teams that contained the likes of Mesut Ozil, Theo Walcott, Alexis Sanchez and more, picking just one top player is tough.

Nevertheless, when he was asked the question prior to this weekend’s Baller League, Iwobi went with Spanish midfielder, Cazorla.

Cazorla saw some of his best days as an Arsenal player robbed by injury but having cost around the £15m mark when he did sign, he’s very much considered an all-time bargain.

Indeed, Cazorla is very much a player who was loved by his teammates. Just recently, <a href="http://<blockquote class="twitter-tweet"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">The names were MENTAL 🤯 https://t.co/FphretbAN2</p>— Baller League (@BallerLeagueHQ) <a href="https://x.com/BallerLeagueHQ/status/2113557558212354090?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">October 23, 2026</a></blockquote> <script async src="https://platform.x.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8">Theo Walcott explained how Man City’s Rayan Cherki reminds him of the Spaniard.

“I’m gonna completely separate all these charges that Man City have,” Walcott said. “Rayan Cherki, after Santi Cazorla, has the — he’s two-footed, right? It’s amazing. I don’t even know which is his best foot.

“The goal’s great. Just the dummy and then the little touch to land space to get his finish off is fantastic. Most players would have just lashed at that.”

Meanwhile, Jack Wilshere also praised Cazorla recently as well, commenting on just how technically good he was in training.

“The best ever I think for training was Santi Cazorla,” he said. “Arsene was all about technique and with the ball, combinations, he was so good at that, he was off both feet.

“He had a picture in his head, if you watch him go through the mannequins. Him, Rosicky, Cesc was good, Hleb — I only saw the end of him but he was top technically.”

Clearly, then, Cazorla has left a lasting impression on a number of teammates, not just the Arsenal fans.
