3 former Iowa football players who stood out in Week 7 of NFL season

Former Iowa football players put together some good performances in the NFL this week.

Whether it was touchdowns, a breakout game, or a solid performance against a rival, here are three former Hawkeyes who played well enough to help their teams earn wins this week.

T.J. Hockenson, Minnesota Vikings

After a bye last week, Hockenson and the Vikings earned another win and are now the only remaining undefeated team in the league.

Hockenson grabbed four passes for 35 yards and a touchdown in the Vikings' 16-10 win over the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday. A fitting thing to happen on National Tight Ends Day.

Tyler Goodson, Dallas Cowboys

Goodson rushed for a season-best 38 yards on 10 carries in a 38-21 Cowboys win over the Philadelphia Eagles on Monday night.

He also returned a punt for a touchdown, though it was negated by a penalty. He played for the Hawkeyes from 2019-2022 and is 11th on the program's all-time rushing yards list with 2,551 total yards on 533 career carries.

Jack Campbell, Detroit Lions

Campbell and the Lions took down their rival, the Green Bay Packers, on Saturday, 20-17.

In the win, Campbell had 11 total tackles (eight solo, three assisted). He was drafted by the Lions after playing at Iowa from 2019-2022. He went in the first round of the 2023 draft, 18th overall.
