Seahawks must fix red-zone defense vs. Cardinals in Week 9

The Seattle Seahawks entered their Week 8 primetime game versus the Chicago Bears as one of the stingiest defenses in the NFL. Something unfortunately changed following the 34-17 loss to Chicago. Mike Macdonald's defense now ranks last in red-zone efficiency after allowing the Bears to score touchdowns on all four of their possessions inside the 20.

It's something that absolutely must be addressed versus the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday. Seattle's defense is currently allowing the fifth-fewest points in the league. That matters little if the opposition consistently converts their red-zone trips into seven.

The film showed that two of the Bears' red-zone touchdowns ran right at Lawrence's C-gap. With Jeremiyah Love on IR, the Cardinals now have Tyler Allgeier starting at running back. Allgeier rushed for 147 yards and a touchdown in an upset win over the Dallas Cowboys last weekend. The challenge will be bigger than expected.

The Seahawks blew the Cardinals out 31-7 in Week 2. The Cardinals converted just one red-zone trip into a touchdown. The defense needs to course-correct after a Week 8 anomaly.
