Marc Summers Says WWE Tried To Hire Him From Nickelodeon, ‘They Offered Zero Money’
Marc Summers

Marc Summers is one of the most popular TV hosts of all time, especially if you were a kid who grew up watching Nickelodeon.

Summers is on tour reflecting on his career when he was asked about his favorite episode of Double Dare.

“We did Super SlopAMania 1. Gorilla Monsoon vs. Bobby The Brain Heenan. Wrestling could not have been bigger. In fact, WWE wanted to hire me from Nickelodeon and put me on as announcer on their show, but they offered me zero money, so I wasn’t going to do it,” he said.

Summers said he met Heenan when he was 16 and sold refreshments at Starlight Musicals in Indianapolis.

“Nicest guy in the world. Heenan was great. Gorilla had two degrees. He was brilliant, fun, and funny. I don’t even have to think about it, that was my favorite episode,” he said.

The episode involving Heenan and Monsoon aired in February 1989.

In August 2025, Summers shared a memory of Hulk Hogan following his passing. You can see his comments here.
