Embarrassing Marathon Moment: Kenyan Runner Finishes Race Despite Stomach Problems

Kenyan runner Mak Mansa has shared an embarrassing experience during the Standard Chartered Nairobi Marathon after suffering stomach problems but still managing to complete the race in 2 hours, 46 minutes and 20 seconds.

According to the account provided, Mansa began experiencing stomach trouble at the 22-kilometre mark near Kibera Hill. He had reportedly taken medication before and during the race, but his condition did not improve.

Despite the discomfort, Mansa decided to continue running. He feared that stopping to use a toilet would cost him valuable time and affect his pace as he worked towards completing the marathon.

By the 28-kilometre mark, the situation had reportedly become worse. However, he continued pushing himself towards the finish line, hoping to complete the race despite the physical challenge.

The situation became more difficult at around the 40-kilometre mark, when Mansa could no longer control his bowel movements and defecated while running.

Despite the embarrassing incident, he did not abandon the race. He continued running until he crossed the finish line, completing the marathon in 2 hours, 46 minutes and 20 seconds.

The reported finishing time was a major personal achievement for Mansa. According to the information shared, he improved his previous personal best by 11 minutes and 26 seconds.

After receiving his medal, Mansa reportedly went to Carnivore Restaurant to clean himself. The account indicated that the mess had spread to his running shorts, socks and shoes.

He later returned to join other runners in celebrating the completion of the marathon.

The experience highlights one of the challenges endurance runners can face during long-distance races. Running for several hours places considerable demands on the body, and stomach problems can affect athletes even when they have prepared for competition.

Mansa's reported experience also shows the determination required to finish a demanding race under difficult circumstances.

Although the incident was embarrassing, his decision to continue running resulted in a personal best, making the experience an unusual part of his marathon story.

The details of Mansa's account and finishing time should be independently confirmed before publication.
