Celtic eye loan deal for Anfield starlet Luke Chambers ahead of January window

Celtic are keen on Blackburn star Balázs Tóth and Liverpool full-back Luke ChambersCeltic have formally established a high-priority four-man transfer shortlist ahead of the upcoming January window, with recruitment executives actively targeting a Liverpool defender alongside an ambitious double raid on Championship outfit Blackburn Rovers.

The Scottish champions are determined to provide decisive squad reinforcement during the winter market as they look to maintain complete dominance in domestic competitions while bolstering their tactical options across European football.

Topping the defensive wishlist is Liverpool left-back Luke Chambers. The highly-rated 22-year-old, who previously gained valuable Scottish Premiership experience during a successful loan stint at Kilmarnock, is widely expected to depart Anfield in search of regular first-team minutes.

With Chambers entering the final months of his Liverpool contract, Celtic decision-makers are weighing up an initial January loan move with a view toward securing a permanent transfer in the summer.

Simultaneously, Celtic have set their sights on Ewood Park for a double player acquisition. Long-term goalkeeping target Balazs Toth has reignited Parkhead interest after refusing to sign a new contract extension with Blackburn.

The 29-year-old Hungarian international's refusal to commit his future to Rovers allows Celtic to explore a pre-contract agreement or a cut-price January deal.

Joining Toth on the radar is Blackburn’s Japanese international playmaker Ryoya Morishita, whose impressive performances in English football have kept him firmly on Celtic’s recruitment radar.

Completing the four-man target list is Torino's Lithuanian international midfielder Gvidas Gineitis. After seeing a summer approach fall short of Torino's £13 million valuation, Celtic intend to test the Serie A club's resolve once again when the transfer window opens.

By pursuing a mix of immediate loan options, contract opportunities, and marquee midfield quality, Celtic are positioning themselves for an exceptionally active winter recruitment campaign.
