Waliniambia I’m not human: Mbavu Destroyer reveals why his TikTok account was banned.

Kenyan social media personality and amateur boxer Mbavu Destroyer has spoken out after losing access to his popular TikTok account, claiming that the platform sent him a message suggesting that he was not a normal human being.

The entertainer shared his account of the incident during an appearance on the Mic Cheque Podcast, where he discussed the circumstances surrounding the disappearance of his TikTok page. His remarks have attracted attention among fans who have followed his rise through online entertainment and boxing.

According to a report by K24 Digital, Mbavu believes that people who reported his account may have contributed to the action taken against him. However, the precise reason for the ban has not been independently established, and TikTok has not been reported as publicly confirming his explanation.

The incident has raised questions about the challenges content creators face when their accounts are suspended or banned. For personalities who depend on social media to reach audiences, losing access to a popular page can interrupt their communication with followers and affect their online visibility.

Mbavu Destroyer's Large Following

Before the reported ban, Mbavu's TikTok account had reportedly accumulated more than 712,000 followers and approximately 16.1 million likes. These figures reflected the considerable audience he had attracted through his videos and online activities.

His popularity grew through entertaining clips, physical challenges, boxing-related content and his memorable “Weka mawe” catchphrase. His unconventional style helped him stand out in Kenya's competitive social media environment, where creators regularly seek new ways to attract viewers.

The reported loss of his account therefore represents a significant development for an entertainer who had built a substantial online presence. Nevertheless, the long-term effect on his popularity remains uncertain, particularly if he continues engaging fans through other platforms.

Boxing Rivalry Increased His Popularity

Mbavu Destroyer also became widely recognised through his rivalry with fellow amateur boxer Portifas Odipo, popularly known as Majembe. Their exchanges and preparations for their boxing encounter generated considerable interest among Kenyan social media users.

The rivalry culminated in a much-anticipated boxing match at Kasarani Indoor Arena in Nairobi on April 4, 2026, which Majembe won, according to K24's reporting. The contest helped bring the two personalities before an audience extending beyond their regular social media followers.

Their growing recognition demonstrated how online entertainment and sporting events can combine to create opportunities for internet personalities. For Mbavu, social media has been an important avenue for building his public identity and connecting with supporters.

Questions Remain Over the TikTok Ban

Although Mbavu suspects that reports from other users played a role in the suspension, the circumstances surrounding the decision remain unclear. Social media platforms can restrict accounts for several reasons, including suspected violations of community guidelines, security concerns or moderation decisions.

Without a detailed explanation from TikTok, it would be premature to conclude that mass reporting was solely responsible for the action. The exact wording and context of the message Mbavu described have also not been independently verified.

The incident highlights the uncertainty creators can face when relying heavily on a single social media platform. While an account can help build a large following, its continued availability depends partly on the platform's rules and enforcement procedures.

For now, Mbavu's remarks have brought renewed attention to his online career, with fans likely to watch for further clarification about the ban and whether he will establish a new presence on TikTok.
