After Arsenal Won 1-0, Here Is How EPL Table Stands

Arsenal moved closer to Premier League leaders Manchester City after securing a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Nottingham Forest at the City Ground on Sunday, October 18, 2026.

The result strengthened Arsenal’s position in the title race, with Mikel Arteta’s side collecting three valuable points to take their tally to 18 after seven matches. Manchester City remained top of the standings with 21 points from seven games, maintaining a perfect record.

Noni Madueke scored the decisive goal in the 80th minute, with his effort taking a deflection before wrong-footing Forest goalkeeper Matz Sels. The goal settled a closely contested encounter in which clear chances were limited, particularly during a goalless first half.

Arsenal’s victory kept them within three points of City, ensuring the pressure remains on the leaders as the campaign continues. Brighton and Hove Albion occupied third place with 13 points, while Chelsea also had 13 points after playing seven matches.

Liverpool followed with 12 points, keeping themselves in contention among the teams chasing the leading positions. Brentford and Everton were also on 10 points, while Leeds United, Hull City and Ipswich Town were among the sides occupying the middle positions.

At the other end of the table, Nottingham Forest suffered another setback after failing to find the net against Arsenal. Their defeat left them on five points from seven matches, increasing the importance of their upcoming fixtures as they seek to move away from the relegation zone.

Forest will next face Ipswich Town on October 23, offering an opportunity to respond to Sunday's disappointment. Arsenal, meanwhile, will return to action on October 24 when they host Everton, hoping to maintain their winning momentum.

With Manchester City still holding a three-point advantage, Arsenal's narrow win has kept the title contest alive, although the Gunners will need consistent results to overtake the leaders.
