Chelsea suffered a chastening 0-2 home defeat to Tottenham Hotspur at Stamford Bridge on Saturday, October 24.
In heavy rain, Chelsea started brightly without top scorer Joao Pedro, but faded after the break. Spurs dominated with 68% possession and 15 shots to Chelsea's 7.
The deadlock broke in the 77th minute when young keeper Mike Penders, deputizing for the injured Emiliano Martinez, punched a Mateus Fernandes corner into his own net.
Three minutes later Cole Palmer was sent off for a second yellow card — first for barging Fernandes, then for stamping on Conor Gallagher. It was Palmer's first career red.
Tottenham made the extra man count in the 87th minute when Mathys Tel cut inside and curled a precise finish past Penders to make it 2-0.
It is only Spurs' second Premier League win at Stamford Bridge in 35 attempts, and their first clean sheet there since December 1986.
Manager Xabi Alonso admitted: "We were not at our best level."
The result leaves Chelsea 4th with 13 points and form DLWWL, while Spurs rise to 12th on 9 points. Chelsea now face Liverpool in the Carabao Cup before hosting Manchester United.
