The Football Kenya Federation (FKF) has congratulated three Kenyan referees following their successful international assignment in Zimbabwe’s Premier Soccer League (PSL).In a message shared on Thursday, October 29, the federation recognised Peter Kamaku, Stephen Yiembe and Gilbert Cheruiyot for their performance while officiating matches in the neighbouring country.

FKF praised the trio for representing Kenya well, noting that their involvement in international competitions reflects the growing recognition of Kenyan match officials beyond the country's borders.

“Congratulations to Peter Kamaku, Stephen Yiembe and Gilbert Cheruiyot for another international assignment well delivered in Zimbabwe’s PSL,” the federation stated.

The recognition comes as Kenyan referees continue to receive opportunities to officiate matches outside the country, providing them with valuable experience and exposure to different football environments.

According to FKF, the progress made by the officials is an encouraging sign that efforts to improve the quality of refereeing in Kenya are heading in the right direction.

The federation further observed that Kenyan referees are increasingly establishing themselves on the international stage, a development that could strengthen the country's reputation in football administration and match officiating.

“Kenyan referees continue to earn their place on the international stage, a sign that we are on the right track in developing quality match officials,” FKF added.International assignments give referees opportunities to demonstrate their abilities while gaining experience in handling competitive matches under different conditions.

For Kenya, having officials trusted with duties in foreign leagues also highlights the importance of investing in referee training, professional development and consistent performance.

Although FKF did not provide further details about the specific matches officiated by the three officials, its message highlighted the federation's satisfaction with their work in Zimbabwe.
