After Man United Lost 4-1, Here Is How UEFA Champions League Table Stands

Manchester United suffered a damaging 4-1 defeat to Como in the UEFA Champions League on Wednesday, October 21, 2026, as Galatasaray revived their campaign with a 4-2 victory over Lille in the league phase.

The results have reshaped the provisional standings after Matchday Three, with Como strengthening their position in the race for a place in the knockout stages while Manchester United face renewed pressure to recover in their remaining fixtures.

Como produced an impressive performance to claim all three points against Manchester United, exposing defensive weaknesses in the English side. The Italian club had already recorded a victory over RB Leipzig in their opening match before losing to Feyenoord on Matchday Two.

The win over United takes Como to six points from three matches, putting them in contention for a place among the teams seeking automatic qualification to the last 16 or a knockout play-off spot.

Manchester United, meanwhile, remain on three points after winning their opening match against Sabah before losing to Atletico Madrid and Como.

Their latest setback leaves them needing stronger performances in the remaining league-phase fixtures. Galatasaray also secured an important victory, defeating Lille 4-2 away from home.

The Turkish giants entered the encounter following defeats against Sporting CP and Barcelona, making the result particularly significant for their qualification ambitions.

The victory gives Galatasaray three points from three matches, while Lille remain without a point after suffering defeats against Real Betis, Arsenal and Galatasaray.

Paris Saint-Germain and Liverpool had entered Wednesday's fixtures at the top of the standings with nine points each after winning their opening three matches.

Stuttgart occupied third place with seven points, while several other clubs remained within reach of the leading positions.

Under the Champions League's league-phase format, the top eight teams qualify directly for the round of 16, while clubs finishing between ninth and 24th enter a two-legged knockout play-off. Teams finishing 25th or lower are eliminated.

The standings remain provisional as Wednesday's remaining fixtures continue, including matches involving Real Madrid, Arsenal, Bayern Munich and Aston Villa.

Manchester United will now need to respond in their next European outing against Roma on November 3, while Galatasaray are scheduled to face Stuttgart on the same date.
